Advertisement for New Members of BAPS International Affairs Committee

The objectives of The British Association of Paediatric Surgeons International Affairs Committee (BAPS IAC) include the engagement of centres across the world with a view to promoting surgical decision making and technique, education, research and other professional skills relevant to the care of children who require surgery. We utilise innovative technologies to support trainees and colleagues, promote international work exchange / attachments / observations to enhance paediatric surgery knowledge, skills and research capacity and encourage active international BAPS membership and attendance at BAPS Congresses.

 

To continue to achieve the objectives described, we wish to recruit 3 committed new members. These roles are open to all registered members of BAPS in the UK and Ireland. Each position is for a 3 year term starting from 15th July 2022. The term may be extended for an additional 2 years.

 

BAPS IAC holds 3 mandatory meetings a year one of which is face to face during the BAPS summer Congress (July). Additional meetings may be scheduled as required to achieve the objectives above.

 

Interested members should send a statement of up to 500 words explaining why they are interested in the role and outlining any relevant skills / experience. This should be sent directly to either of the Co-Chairs of the IAC or via Kate Billington in the BAPS office by midnight on 31st May 2022. Successful applicants will be notified by the BAPS office and will be encouraged to attend the face to face meeting of the IAC in Birmingham on 15th July 2022.
