The 61st BAPS Annual Congress was held at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) in Edinburgh, Scotland on 22nd to 25th July 2014.

The prizes awarded were:
The Peter Paul Rickham prize – Riccardo Coletta for the presentation ‘Exploring Intestinal autologous anastomosis using a catenary ex vivo model of embryonic gastrointestinal tract’.
The President’s Prize – Shawn St.Peter for the presentation ‘Saline versus tissue plasminogen activator irrigations after drain replacement for appendicitis-associated abscess: a prospective randomized trial’.
The judges Poster Prize – Emily Partridge for the poster ‘Timing of repair of congenital diaphragmatic hernia in patients supported by extracorporeal membrane oxygenation’.
Trainees Free paper session prize – Kate Burnand
