Advanced Nurse Practitioner / Trainee Advanced Nurse Practitioner (annex 21) – Paediatric Surgery, Greater Glasgow

Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow are recruiting an Advanced Nurse Practitioner / Trainee Advanced Nurse Practitioner in paediatric surgery.

The Surgical Advanced Nurse Practitioner is integral to the delivery of the exciting new vision and plan for the hospital and creating excellent outcomes for the patients that attend the service.

You will be able to demonstrate a strong desire to understand and excel in practice, enhancing patient care and customer experience, whilst facilitating the best possible clinical outcomes. A commitment to the development of high quality evidence based surgical care is essential, combined with the tenacity and passion required to drive the patient outcomes forward.

This role is predominantly based within the paediatric surgical department, and is both challenging and rewarding. You will be expected to work on a rotational shift basis, which will include being part of the ‘on call’ team, working within the out-patient clinics as well as within theatres. You will be encouraged to participate in audit and research, with guidance and support from both the registrars and consultants. The surgical team are dedicated to developing and training and have dedicated teaching on a weekly basis. The successful applicant will be given bespoke training to enable them to grow and develop their skills within this role.

It is essential you are a Registered Children’s Nurse and you should have (or be willing to train to) appropriate Masters level qualification in Advanced Practice.
