Advancing paediatric surgery through education and research

Clinical Fellow in Paediatric Surgery (ST1) – Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow

Applications are invited for the above post. You must have completed the foundation programme or equivalent. All successful candidates will have the opportunity to work on specific areas of development such as Medical Education (simulation training for Foundation Doctors and practical skills teaching to medical students), audit, service development programmes and quality improvement projects.

This post will not lead to a CCT in the specialty, but time spent in this post may be beneficial in applying to specialty training in Paediatric or Orthopaedic Surgery or related paediatric surgical specialties.

Post holders will be expected to participate fully in the departmental educational programme and be subject to learning agreement and engagement with the ISCP process.

Although these posts do not hold educational approval from the Postgraduate Dean, they will give valuable experience in paediatric surgical and associated specialities (general surgery, urology, orthopaedics and Neonatology).

To practice medicine in the UK you need to hold both GMC registration and a license to practice.
