Current conflict in Sudan

According to the United Nations, 100,000 people have fled the current conflict in Sudan. In Khartoum, food, water and electricity are running out. The World Health Organisation have said that some healthcare facilities have come under direct attack leading to the death of healthcare workers, whilst other facilities have been taken over as military bases, with both doctors, nurses and patients being thrown out onto the streets. There are also reports of NHS workers stranded in the conflict see: NHS doctors trapped in Sudan (bma.org.uk).

Our thoughts are with the Sudanese people at this difficult time, and we would also like to voice our support for the healthcare workers striving to care for their patients in the maelstrom of conflict.
