CBS Survey of Surgical Trainees of Training during the COVID-19 Pandemic
Dear Colleague,
A pilot study conducted by CBS has suggested that training opportunities for surgical trainees have been reduced by as much as 50% due to the COVID-19 pandemic. More alarmingly, our results suggest that a majority of respondents want their CCST date deferred for a year or more.
This suggests a real crisis in surgical training!
Our fears are supported by recent research results from ASIT and BOTA.
The Confederation of British Surgery represents the whole surgical team and at this time are particularly anxious to fully represent the views of our future surgeons. To do this effectively, we need more input.
