Sustainability at BAPS

BAPS registration deskIf you were lucky enough to be at our 69th BAPS, you may have noticed that our signage in Bruges looks familiar and our badges don’t come in plastic holders any longer. We’ve made the conscious decision to re-use signage by not printing any date or place information on our banners, lectern mounts, pop-ups and registration desk branding. Only digital signage has date and place information. Our badges are now on postcards to do away with plastic holders.

When we selected the BMCC in Bruges we were shown their green roof as part of a slew of measures they’ve undertaken to have not only a state-of-the-art conference venue, but a sustainable one too.  They even keep bees on the roof and harvested their first honey this year. The caterers in Bruges are also committed to sustainability by providing lots of plant-based options and undertaking to avoid food waste. Going forward, as we speak to potential partners for our congresses, sustainability remains on the agenda.

There’s always room for improvement  so if you have seen any innovations which we might be able to deploy, do let us know.
